By my count it has been about six or seven weeks since I have returned from Portland. The shell-shock of returning to reality has left me with a lack of motivation. Immediately upon my return I had to worry about my car insurance climbing up to over $400 a month and still not having a job. Thankfully, Vons (a grocery store owned by Safeway) finally hired be as a "Courtesy Clerk" (coincidentally on my birthday) and after shopping around for insurance my monthly rate is right around $150. I had two days of training, and my first actual day of work starts tomorrow. While bagging groceries and stocking shelves will eat away at my free time, it will provide me with income to supplement my creative pursuits. I will upload some photos from Portland (this includes the final set of photos which were up in the PNCA gallery for approx. 2 weeks, and photos from other assignments) and some photos I have taken for my AP Art Class. In other news I bought a Minolta Hi-Matic 7s 35mm rangefinder camera for $15 yesterday. Now that I have income, I will be able to purchase film for both the Holga and the Minolta and get it developed. Hope all of you are doing well and taking it easy.
